  • What is an ebike?

An electric bicycle, also known as an e-bike, is a bicycle with an integrated electric motor. You switch it on with a single button, and  you need to pedal to keep it going, but you need much less power than with an ordinary bike. Since the bike still allows for a person to pedal, it is not classified as an electric motorcycle and therefore you do not need any form of driving license. The speed of the ebike is controlled by you by how much or how little you pedal.

  • Is it difficult to ride and electric bike?

In fact no, it is just easier! There is nothing difficult about it as long as you can ride an ordinary bike with gear. It just has the added advantage of having an electric motor  which you switch on with a single button. Apart from that, you will get a short introduction just before our trip starts, and at the first stop, shortly after the beginning start, we have a quick check of the ebikes to make sure everything is ok with how the bike is functioning and how the rider is doing. It is of course essential that you know how to ride an ordinary bike.

  • Do I need to be fit for this trip?

Unlike walking tours, this trip is suitable for anybody in just about any  condition! Though you still need to keep pedaling, all the effort is done by electrical motors, so if you can sit and control your bike, you have got it made!  Our ebikes can withstand up to 125 kg (275 lbs) and we even have specially designed bikes for people over 60 years of age.

  • Is it safe?

We put great emphasis on safety. While designing our route, we tried to avoid any busy streets and we follow the cycling paths and park lanes as much as possible. If the group is bigger than 2, there are always 2 guides riding with you – one in front and one at the back to ensure that all the people stay together throughout the tour. In the unlikely event of an accident or a mechanical problem with the bike, one of the guides is ready to fix the problem, while the rest of the group can continue the tour. And of course, we also provide you with safety helmets which should be worn throughout the tour.

  • Is there a chance that I might get lost along the way?

No worries, we have got you covered. If the group is bigger than 2, we always have one guide at the back who pays attention that the group stays together and follows the route. Moreover, the distance  between the stops is not all that far and we do a quick check  at each stop to make sure that everything is alright.

  • How do I pay?

We accept payment in cash on  the spot, just before our tour starts. We accept payment in Czech crowns, Euros, US dollars and British pounds. At the present time we are unable to accept  your credit/debit card payments, but you can also pay via your bank account if you so choose. For account details see Reservation and price section of our website.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we ask that you book in advance due to logistical reasons  as we need to agree upon the pick up spot. Also for the open tour, we ask that you book in advance, since we do not have the office at the meeting point and will not travel to the meeting destination if there are not any  people who have placed an order for a specified hour.

  • Can I cancel the ride?

Yes, you can cancel your booking 24 hours prior to the start. If you have already paid via bank transfer, we guarantee a full refund if cancellation is no less than 24 hours from the start of the tour.

  • Where do we meet?

If you order our open tour, the meeting point is at the side entrance of the Rudolfinum palace at Palachovo náměstí (Staroměstská metro station – see the map of the meeting point  in the Open tour section).

If you order our private tour, you will have the advantage of our flexibility and you won´t have to struggle  through Prague on your own. We come to your hotel and pick you up, if you stay within the designated area (see the map in the Private Ebike tour section). We can also agree to meet up with you at any place of your choice within the designated area. This must be agreed upon  in advance since the place must have the possibility to park our car and not be too over-crowded in order to give you the chance to safely try out the bikes.

If you order our VIP tour, any meeting point can be agreed upon. An advantage of this offer is that we can also pick you up at your hotel, even outside of the designated area anywhere in the greater Prague area and  we will start our tour on the bikes from your hotel to the center.  (see the section VIP tours).

  • What should I wear?

Since our bikes are “effortlesseffortless,“ you do not have to wear any special sport clothing. You can wear whatever you would wear as a tourist ready to explore the town on foot. On a rainy or potentially rainy day it is recommended to dress accordingly, however at all times we are able to provide you with a free poncho which should make your ride more comfortable if the sun is hiding behind the clouds or if the rain surprises us.

  • What if the weather is bad?

We offer our tour in any weather, since there is a poncho packed in the box mounted on the back of the bike ready to be taken out at any time. In case our ride is truly impossible, we do our best to shift ride to a different time.

  • Can I ride with my handbag/bag/backpack?

There is a box on the back of the bikes in which you can put some valuables or a small hand bag (assuming that it fits). If you have a bigger bag with you, we recommend you to leave it at your hotel or you can take it on the ride if it is not uncomfortable for you. However, it is recommended not to bring any valuables, just as you would not take them with you if you were planning to spend the day in a crowded city.

  • Can I bring children along?

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or must be aware that our company is not legally responsible for them (a parent or guardia must sign an agreement before the tour starts). Since the ebikes are designed for an adult person, it depends on how tall the child is to see if the bike is the  right size. We have specially designed bikes with a low step frame, but generally  people under  1.4 m (4´7´´) might have some difficulties.

  • Do I need to take any food or drinks with me?

No, we have got you covered!  We provide you with our complimentary snack box with a bottle of water and a small snack and during the trip there will be numerous opportunities to have a break for refreshments.  If  needed, and if the rest of the group does not mind, at anytime your guide can stop at a shop to buy whatever you may need for your comfort and satisfaction.  Moreover, opportunities to taste the famous Czech beer are certain to be found and enjoyed along the way!
